@dermTVdotcom So would taking Omega-3 supplement pills be bad for my skin?
July 4th, 2010 at 9:37 pm
@rudyness30 hi, but no it does not, nuts and chocolates are more likely to be blamed for causing breakouts..and also 5% carb is very low compared to your diet for example if your eating rice or meat..
July 4th, 2010 at 10:21 pm
@thegame245 Any time fluid-like materials in your body are stagnant as opposed to flowing, they are prone to becoming infected. The sebum/oil in your comedones is subject to the same rule so if it’s there long enough, it can get infected and morph into a puss-filled, inflammatory legion. However, inflammatory legions do not change into comedones.
July 4th, 2010 at 11:13 pm
why is it that some of my non inflamitory acne lesions aka comodones sometimes turn into tender red papules or pustules?
July 4th, 2010 at 11:18 pm
Nice, I am Finally going to the dermatologist after 3 years of acne. I hope the doctor is as good as you.

Does 5%Carb cause acne breakouts?… PLS REPLY ME SOON… Because i drink Gatorade everyday.
July 5th, 2010 at 12:03 am
@bloodfalcon7722: Yes, that’s correct. Topical products are more effective for treating non-inflammatory whiteheads and blackheads while oral medication is best to treat cysts.
July 5th, 2010 at 12:04 am
so does topical washes get red of the white heads and black heads while pils get rid of the cyst?
July 5th, 2010 at 12:50 am
@XoNatalieXo5227: In regards to your breakouts and dry skin, dry skin is an absence of water and is not related to the excess of oil involved in acne. They are two independent conditions.
July 5th, 2010 at 1:49 am
@XoNatalieXo5227: In regards to your pills question, most allergies to medication are not inherited and should not be a reason for you to not have appropriate antibiotics for any condition.
July 5th, 2010 at 1:55 am
@XoNatalieXo5227: Sunburn causes exfoliation which is why it helps acne. However, the damage caused by the sun when you incur the sunburn causes problems far greater than the benefit for your acne, especially considering there are many safe ways to improve your acne without damaging your skin.

@misslostinthoughts: It’s really great that you are trying to help her. As a start, check out See DermTV episode 124, “Acne Treatment in Three Easy Steps.” If that info is not sufficient to help her, then it is best for her to see a dermatologist to get her on the right treatment plan as she may need a combination of topical products and or oral medications for acne.
July 5th, 2010 at 4:08 am
@misslostinthoughts you say she is washing her face alot. Is she following her cleanser with an oil-free moisturizer for acne? Overwashing can make the skin very dry, which makes the skin overproduce even more oil in an attempt to compensate, which can make acne worse. At 12 her hormones are probably already producing too much oil; overwashing will make it worse.

Hey there neal,My sister is 12 and she has really bad acne, she has at least 15 pimples or black heads on her face.I can tell that it hurts.she washes her face with but nothing seems to work salciyac acid,or natural treatments. Her skin is oily and kind of a bad skin odor, how can I help her?
July 5th, 2010 at 5:37 am
Neal!
What do you want me to swallow my accutane pills with if i don’t really fix the timing of taking it with a meal?
And please Neal, how can i make my redness fade as quickly as possible? Thankyou!!!!
July 5th, 2010 at 6:29 am
@nelly2395: It seems that the 5% benzoyl peroxide aqua gel is too irritating and drying for you. You would probably be best off sticking with the cream formula as you know it works for you but wait until the rough spots are gone. To help fix the rough spots, some people use an oil free moisturizer four times a day.
July 5th, 2010 at 6:37 am
maybe that product was too harsh for your skin. try to use something without benozyl peroxide.
July 5th, 2010 at 6:51 am
yh ive been having a few red bumps on my forehead they starting appearing after i used benozyl peroxide 5% aquagel im not allergice to it as the cream version cured all my acne but this has caused rough spots.WHAT SHALL I DO i am so scared they will turn into pimples-i dont want to have a spotty foreahead again although i have stopped using it.(i have normal to dry skin)

July 5th, 2010 at 12:29 pm
Treats Acne from the inside out.Acne is caused from imbalances and impurities within the body, and that’s why we treat the problem an internal cleansing treatment that goes right to the source and fights acne before it even begins.
July 5th, 2010 at 1:26 pm

I agree with jrg305. My diet is also excellent. No soda, no fast foods, fried foods, white flour etc. I consume a superfood shake in the morning, eggs, wild caught fish, greens, fruits, nuts, lots of water, tea, and my sugar intake is less than 15 grams per day.

I’ve had back acne since a being a teenager. It goes away for the most part and comes in the hotter months. When I lived up north, I didn’t struggle with it at all. Then during the summers, it flares up like I”m a teenager. I’m getting my masters and registered dietitian credential, so I must say that my perfect diet (Yea I’m a psycho disciplinarian with it) is not the cause of my back acne. I’m leaning more toward my constant sweat patterns and not washing sheets nightly…
July 5th, 2010 at 4:11 pm
I got a question for you all here. I was in a hospital for a week because I had a surgery. After getting home I noticed that my back had no acne what so ever. I did have it before the hospital and now I have it again. What could have influenced it? I mean, in the hospital I couldnt wash my self. I had lay down for 5 days. (on my back only)
July 5th, 2010 at 4:51 pm
Keeley, are you even an MD?? You’re presentation was ridiculous to say the least!
My fiancee suffers from back acne and its not because she eats fried foods, refined sugars and flours! She’s a vegetarian! And eats organic foods only and no desserts!! She’s been eating a healthy diet for the past 12 years! And she suffers from back acne. There’s nothing more she could be doing diet wise to clear up her back acne. Your presentation was disingenuous to say the least.

@yourenotme12
it is so easy to remove tham that you would not belive it
just take your urin and wash your face with it!
google urinotherapy!
you dont need doctors and noone to sell you nothing
but after that eat healthy (and i know you dont live healthy,if you did you would not have this problem)
July 5th, 2010 at 6:02 pm
did this woman just put on a white coat and pretend to know what shes talking about?
July 5th, 2010 at 6:33 pm
Try Neem, it works really good on Acne and clearing up the skin.
July 5th, 2010 at 7:20 pm
Dirt and sweat do NOT cause acne. Pores don’t clog from the top down; they collapse on themselves.
