Harsh cleansers can irritate your face or make your acne worse. Remember to wash your face at least once per day. Also, avoid the temptation to touch you face, or to scrub it. These can increase acne flareups. The best thing you can do when it comes to acne treatment is stay hands-off.

You can also use apple cider vinegar as an effective home remedy for acne. Its high pH allows it to kill bacteria, balance the pH level of your skin, and reduce oil. Apple cider vinegar also contains citric acid, which can help exfoliate your skin, improving tone and texture. Dilute the vinegar in a ratio of one part vinegar to eight parts water. Use the highest quality apple cider vinegar you can, and try to use purified water. Purified water doesn’t contain any minerals or other substances that might irritate your acne. Wet a cotton ball with diluted vinegar and moisten your skin with it. Be sure to only use diluted vinegar and not to over do the application. Otherwise, the acid in the vinegar could lead to drying of the skin, which can result in more break outs.

Egg whites are also good for acne. They’re filled with vitamins and proteins, and are good for toning and tightening the skin. You should separate the whites of two eggs, then whip them to a froth. Apply this to your face, and allow it to remain for around fifteen minutes. Then rinse with warm, but not hot, water.
